Taro/Taguchi (田口 亮 Taguchi Ryō) is one of the five main protagonists of Sweet Home. He is a cameraman on a team of reporters making a documentary about Ichirō Mamiya. His signature item is the Camera (replaceable by a different Camera) which can be used to take photographs of the many frescoes throughout the mansion. Taking a photo of a fresco will reveal either a hint on how to proceed, or some backstory to the events that unfolded prior to when the game takes place. It also does bonus damage to Bats, Wraith, and Ghost. He has the highest defense out of the party, as well as the second highest Max HP at 2290.

- According to the movie’s English dub subtitles translation, Taro is called Taguchi Due to the character’s name being limited to 6 letters as his original Japanese name (たぐち) only has three letters.
- in the movie, he was killed by Lady Mamiya, but In the game version however he survives.
