Overworld
Yamamura is a mysterious old man who aids the crew later in the game. He explains that the reason Lady Mamiya is restless is because her son's grave has been defiled. He is also exceptionally strong, pushing large statues and breaking through walls.
He ultimately sacrifices himself by trying to bypass one of Lady Mamiya's barriers, which was strong enough to melt his flesh off and reduce him to a skeleton (with the film having his skeleton collapse into a heap shortly thereafter).

- It has been suggested that Yamamura is Ichirō Mamiya.
- He is the only character to die in both the movie and the game regardless of the player's actions. Taro and Asuka die in the movie, but can optionally be spared in the game.
