Kazuo Hoshino (星野 和夫 Hoshino Kazuo) is the one of the five main protagonists of Sweet Home. He is the director of a team of reporters making a documentary about Ichirō Mamiya. His signature item is the Lighter (replaceable by the Matches) which can be used to burn ropes that block the way, or lightning candles to make dark rooms visible. It also does bonus damage to Worms and Skull. He is the strongest character, and has the highest Max HP at 2320. He is Emi’s father and Mrs. Hoshino's husband.
